Do you ever sit there with an object and and ask yourself something along the lines of “I wonder what would happen if…” I often do. And this time I was just curious to see what sort of patterns would be cast the the array of glasses and empty bottles I have in my collection. As you’d imagine, something like this whiskey glass really shows off it’s simple design. 

But when you get to glass that’s imperfect, you really don’t predict how it will affect the pattern being thrown.

And then when you know one aspect, you can then start adding other elements asking the same question, “I wonder what will happen when…” And just keep building from there until you have something great. Or it starts to look awful and you know you’ve gone too far.

But don’t be afraid to try,. Even when you don’t get anything you like, you’ve gained some knowledge that may be useful later.
